Revelation Network Product Matrix
For each major current network and client system version that become generally available from Microsoft and Novell (at Revelation Software’s discretion), Revelation Software will conduct intensive benchmark testing with our OpenInsight, Advanced Revelation and Network products for functionality, data integrity and performance. Included in this document is the required Revelation Network Driver, which is a key element to ensure the stability of your particular network configuration. The configurations listed within this matrix will be considered as “supported” environments by Revelation Software. Revelation Software is no longer conducting benchmark tests for product versions below OpenInsight 9.x and Advanced Revelation 3.12.

OpenInsight Version 9.x
All new licenses of OpenInsight 9.x ship with the Universal Driver 4.x and above. The Universal Driver 4.x and above is for Windows platforms only and is compatible with OpenInsight running on the following Windows platforms: Windows 2000 Professional, XP Professional, Vista Business 32-bit, Vista Ultimate 32-bit, Windows 7 Professional/Ultimate 32-bit, Windows 7 Professional/Ultimate 64-bit, 2000 Server, 2003 Server or 2008 Server.
OpenInsight Version 8.0.1
OpenInsight 8.0.1 ships with the All Networks Driver 1.5, and 2.1 both of which can be utilized on Windows 2000/NT, with or without Revelation Windows 2000 Service (formerly called NT Service) 1.5, 2.1 or on a Novell Network with no Revelation NLM installed. The Revelation NLM 1.5 should be used in a Novell 3.x, 4.x network and the Revelation NLM 5.5 in a Novell 5.x or 6.0 network running IPX for both an OpenInsight and Advanced Revelation environment. If you are running Netware 5.1 SP6+, Netware 6.0 SP2 running IP or Netware 6.5, the Universal Driver 3.0 is required. The Universal Driver 4.5 is for Windows platforms only.
Advanced Revelation version 3.12
The All Networks Driver 1.5 is equivalent to Revelation’s NPP 1.5, which ships as part of the Revelation Windows 2000 Service 1.5 and is compatible with Advanced Revelation in a Windows 2000/NT network. If you purchase the Universal Driver, or the 2.1 Service, the appropriate driver to match is provided. However, the Revelation NLM 1.5 should be used in a Novell 3.x, 4.x network and the Revelation NLM 5.5 in a Novell 5.x or 6.0 network running IPX for both an OpenInsight and Advanced Revelation environment. If you are running Netware 5.1 SP6+, Netware 6.0 SP2 running IP or Netware 6.5, the Universal Driver is required.

Although intensive benchmark testing has not been conducted on Novell 4.2, Revelation utilized Novell’s certification test suite for Novell 4.2 (Network), Windows 95 MS Client and Windows 95 Client 32 environment with the Revelation NLM 1.5/IPX Driver 1.5a. Revlelation has determined that the test results for the Novell 4.2 configuration (listed above) are equivalent to that of Novell 4.11.

Under a Novell 4.X environment, Revelation Software recommends that the Revelation NLM 1.5 be implemented as the recommended configuration.

Although Revelation Software is no longer conducting benchmark tests under the Novell 3.x environment, we are satisfied with the stability of the Novell 3.X configuration with Revelation’s NLM version 1.5.
** NOTE ** Advanced Revelation is still being tested with Netware 6. Look for results soon.
