Revelation Shows its Stuff at LinuxWorld San Francisco

Another Linux World show has come and gone, and this one was perhaps the best that Revelation Software has ever attended. Taking place from August 14th through the 17th 2006 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, the show had an attendance of approximately 11,000.

For Revelation Software, this was an especially interesting show as we had been named a Finalist in the Linux World Product Excellence awards, in the Best Application Development Platform or Tool. And although we didn’t win, a number of attendees and exhibiting companies were impressed and interested to pursue further ties with us.

We were approached by a number of other development and platform copies regarding strategic partnerships. In fact, we have since become partners with Red Hat, and OpenInsight for Linux is now listed in the Red Hat Software Catalog. We will be pursuing other partnerships in the near future; watch the website for details.

In conjunction with our partner Linspire, we gave away two copies of OIL-PE (personal Edition) at a prize drawing held for attendees in the Linspire Room. The two winners were Brett Bonner and Hugo French. Congratulations to both our winners.

As usual we gave many, many demonstrations to new, interested developers, and were even able to talk with some of our existing clients and developers from the Bay Area. An interesting outcome of this show was a desire voiced by many of the attendees to get assistance in moving their applications from Windows-based Access to Linux-based OpenInsight. We’re investigating this actively as well; watch the website for updates.

As always, we had a great time promoting Revelation Software and our products. We’ll be back again next year in San Francisco, and look forward to seeing you there!
