IN DEVELOPMENT
The next release of OpenInsight for Web (O4W) will include additional support for mobile devices, such as tablets and smartphones. These additional features will be implemented as a series of additional API's that can be used in building O4W stored procedures. Using JQUERY MOBILE, the companion library to O4W's jQuery, web pages can be built that follow the design styling that is now becoming the standard on smaller devices.

TECH TIPS
Did you know...that you can create your own Code Templates with the Editor++. Code Templates are pre-built code snippets that can be inserted into an active record within the Editor++. Included in OpenInsight are sample Code Templates such as: V119 Sample, Btree.Extract Sample, Loop...Readnext Sample, Open File Sample and Program Header Sample. Code Templates are stored in the SYSCODETEMPLATES table. To create a Code Template, open a new record with the System Editor++. Enter a code snippet and then save the record in the SYSCODETEMPLATES table. To insert a Code Template, place the cursor in a new or opened Stored Procedure. Select Code Templates from the Utilities menu. A popup of available code snippets will be displayed. Select the Code Template or Templates you would like to insert into the Stored Procedure. Click OK. If a Template has a place holder for user inputted data, fill in the data as necessary.

Revelation's O4W Relieves Administrative Burden at River Parishes Community College

By Joyce Wells, DBTA
River Parishes Community College (RPCC) is an open-admission, 2-year, public institution. It is located in the small Ascension Parish town of Sorrento in what is known as the River Parishes region of the state because of the parishes' proximity to the Mississippi River. The college provides courses up to and including certificates and associate's degrees and also provides programs for personal, professional, and academic growth to the communities it services.

Now more than a decade old, RPCC was created in 1999 after the Louisiana Community and Technical College System was created to address the fact that, though Louisiana was one of the most populous states in the country, it was without a community college system to serve its citizens. RPCC joined six other community colleges in the state under the new system, and now serves students in Ascension, Assumption, St. James, St. John, St. Charles, Tangipahoa, and Washington Parishes, as well as portions of Iberville and Livingston Parishes. READ ON.
