Come to Houston!

Introducing OpenInsight 10X

Thousands of man hours of work.  Years of development.  Every module worked on.  Nearly every program reworked in some manner.  This is what Revelation Software has been doing to bring you OpenInsight 10.0, and the 2015 Revelation Software Users' Conference is where you can learn about it first.

I'd like to invite you to come to this conference to see and learn about OpenInsight 10.  This conference is different in a number of ways from prior ones.  Only developers who actually worked on the OpenInsight 10 project are giving presentations.  We'll be repeating presentations so that attendees don't miss one presentation in order to see another.  And of course, we'll make sure you can meet and talk with Revelation Staff, and your colleagues.

OpenInsight 10 is quite likely the most significant version of OpenInsight ever made.  We've made changes to nearly every program in the product.  We've rewritten the Presentation Server and Form Designer completely.  We have made significant changes to Indexing, Reporting, and Source Code Management.  We've created new management consoles, introduced our own web server, and have new Cloud-based capabilities.  We've added a newer, more secure Authentication Module, improved our performance on today's networks.  In essence, we've rebuilt this product from the ground up.

If you plan on working with OpenInsight 10.0, either the 64-bit or 32-bit version, I encourage you to come to this conference and learn as much as you can so you can hit the ground running.  I hope to see you in  Houston this March.

Did you know?

...that you can produce BRW Reports from O4W.

OpenInsight for Web (O4W) provides the ability to produce reports generated by the Banded Report Writer (BRW), as a PDF on the client browser.  Once the PDF is generated in the browser, you can either save it or print the PDF to a local printer.

Universal Driver 5.0

In conjunction with the release of OpenInsight 10, Revelation Software will also release the Universal Driver 5.0  The UD 5.0 will only be compatible with OpenInsight 10.0 and above, and the service can coexist with earlier versions of the Universal Driver on the same server.  The UD 5.0 will be included at no additional cost with the purchase of OI 10 licensing.

Features and Benefits

Latest Communication Technology - The Universal Driver 5.0 utilizes the latest communication libraries to provide robust, reliable service between the UD server and its clients.

32-bit or 64-bit - System administrators can choose to install either 32-bit or 64-bit versions of the UD server.

Secure Communications Option - If desired, the communications channel between the UD server and its clients can be SSL encrypted, preventing unauthorized interception of sensitive information.

Authenticated clients option - If desired, only explicitly authorizied client software can connect to the UD server over a secure SSL channel.

Connection Retry - If the communication link between the client and server is temporarily lost, and then restored, the client will attempt to reconnect and resume normal operations.

VSS friendly - The UD 5.0 is VSS (Volume Snapshot Service) aware and can thus be backed up with minimal disruption to normal operations.

Linux (planned) or Windows implementation - The UD 5.0 can be installed on either Windows or Linux servers.
